FTYA’s recreational softball program offers girls softball for grades K-8 in the Spring (April-June). This program is for girls of all skill levels.

Description |
| Instructional | K-2 | Coach pitch\T-Ball. Girls learn the core skills of hitting, catching, throwing, and fielding. Games are played twice a week. Coaches remain on the field during games and pitch to the girls. |
| Junior | 3-4 | Coach pitch\Girl pitch. Girls continue to build core skills and participate in pitching. Games are played twice a week. |
| Intermediate | 5-6 | Fast pitch competitive games played twice a week. |
| Senior | 7-8 | Fast pitch competitive games played twice a week. |
Online registration will be open from late January to early February. Specific dates will be announced.
The season begins in mid-April and ends mid-June.
Indoor practices will start on or about April 1st depending on facility availability.
Practices occur twice a week until games begin. Games take place twice a week according to the following general schedule:
Instructional level games and practices take place as Asbury Fields. Junior, intermediate, and senior levels practice and play at the Franklin Township School.
Weekday games generally start at 5:30. Saturday games can take place in the morning to early afternoon. Exact times are determined during season scheduling. Practice schedules are determined by the coaches.
There is no guarantee. We will typically roster one team at each level so this is rarely an issue.

FTYA operates exclusively on parent volunteers. Volunteers are provided mentoring and are required to obtain certification for the applicable sport.
The Warren County Girls Softball Association typically runs Junior, Intermediate and Senior level tournaments in May.
NYSCA is a nationally recognized organization and ensures that coaches are trained. All coaches must be certified by taking an online class through NYSCA, www.nays.org
